Tolman was awarded an Critics' Choice Television Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in the category of Movies/Miniseries. In addition, her nominations in the category of Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes. In the same year it was revealed that Tolman will have a guest appearance on The Mindy project as Abby Berman who is a romantic author. The actress was an actor in Michael Dougherty's horror comedy film Krampus.
